CR 2008 and SalesForce

Hi all. We are looking for a report solution for SalesForce and Crystal Report. I know that Crystal 2008 came with a SalesForce driver, but I’m not able to connect to my SalesForce account (30 days demo).
If I use

https://login.salesforce.com/

with my login and password, I received;

Logon failed
Details: unexpected error; nested exception is: java.net.UnknownHostException: https

I want to know if I have to configure anything else before making more research on this topic.

I believe from reading that you should be connecting to:

http://www.salesforce.com

(no http etc)
Then use your login and pass..
