CR 10 Web report doesn't refresh

Hi,

New to the forum.

I have a problem with a web report. When an AS400 table is updated (by deleting all records and re-populating) the client CR 10 report works fine , but running the report from the web shows the old data.

If I open the report with the client CR 10 and save it then run the report from the web it now has the updated info.

I'm not sure what is going on as I have other reports that work fine.

Any suggestions.

Hi,
Are you clicking on the Refresh button ( the lightning bolt) when viewing the report?
Which viewer are you using?
Is it being run from CE?

1. I am not using the refresh button an there are parameters that have to be entered.
2. I am using CrystalReportsViewer.asp
3. CE? I'm not sure what this is.

Sorry - CE is Crystal Enterprise, BO's product for publishing Crystal reports to a web site with extensive control, customization and security features.
How are you deploying the reports to the web server?

Anyway,
If you click on the refresh icon, it should , if properly configured, reprompt for the parameters.

Hi,
We are using the client on a websever that houses an intranet site and the reports reside on the server.

When you hit the website you click on the report and you get a popup browser that handles the report.

It will ask you for some parameters first then run the report.

This is physically the same report I run on my desktop. I created the report and IT directs the website to use it.

On my desktop the report works fine from either the refresh button or F5. It will ask for the same parameters.

The difference is the website runs the report returning the old data and the desktop runs the report returning the new data.

If I save the report (by changing it or saveas itself) the the web will see the new data.

It's really weird as it is physically the same report, just accessed from a different location.

Hi,
Just to make sure..when on the web, you are clicking the 'lightning bolt' icon in the viewer, not the web browser's 'Reload' button..

Hi,

The viewer does not have a lightning bolt.

We are using the bare bones viewer.

Note: this viewer does work with other reports although I think those tables are updated not deleted then reloaded.

Turkbear,

I'm sorry I wasted your time. The reports are updating, it just takes some time as the server is set to access the AS400 every 20 minutes.

It is set that way as some of the reports on the server take awhile to print & if printing isn't done it will restart the report and hang.

It is working now - with penitence
