I have a Toshiba Desktop pc with NT4 workstation on it.
Very occasionally the pc grinds to a halt with rtvscan.exe
using 97-99% of the cpu.
I have spoken to symantec and they said to upgrade the servicepack (great getout). I duly done as I was told and it appeared to solve the problem. Until this morning.
Does anyone have a clue what might be happening.
I do not have any other pcs with NT on them to try and recreate the problem.
Thanks in advance
JT

Thanks for the response.
I am using version 7.5 enterprise

This happened to all of my PCs running NAVCE 7.5 after I pushed the client installs. After much gnashing of teeth, I finally got a response from Norton that I would need a new build....havn't got it yet. You might see other symptoms like Explorer locking up at shutdown. This occurs on nearly all of the machines that have the CPU ustilization problem. A+, N+, MCP
