CPU on AIx very basy

after for check the server by using topas comaand i saw this:

can i kill the process xauth .

Quite strange that the process is consuming that much cpu after all ...

However, first of all you should take a look at what it's good for and decide for yourself whetever you want to kill the process or not and maybe it will give you a hint about what might be causing the cpu load.

This is a long shot because you provide so little information about your system but it could be a known problem in X11.apps.config at AIX 5.3 ML03 when users are using ssh login to X-Windows.

If you want people to help you then don't just post the output of a couple of commands and ask what the problem is, you should at least give some information about the environment like the machine you are having a problem with, at least the processor type like power 4/5/6 and the AIX releast and ML, TL and SP info. Otherwise you are likely to get no responce, a vague response or an answer that is of no help.

my server is p5 4 cpu and 8G memory after i checked the cpu i fount that it was 100% by xauth process.
what is the funcation of this process? . please confim . I am i need to solve this issue.
