Hi guys,

Am going through the /usr/ucb/ps command as well and the prstat command...there is a %CPU column, just like to inquire on how Solaris calculates the %CPU for each process. Let's say I have a server with 4 CPUs, is the %CPU normalized to 100% for 4 CPU or raw value of 400% for 4 CPU ?

Thanks in advance for any information given.

Cheers,
PS

It's a % of all of the available CPU power in the system, so if you have a runaway single-threaded process that is consuming a whole CPU it will show as 25% in a 4 CPU system.

Annihilannic.
