I have a computer that runs perfectly fine as long as I leave it on 24/7. However, if I turn it off, I have to wait 30-45 minutes before I can turn it back on.

If I try to turn it on too soon, it will get power, but no video signal. Restarting it does not help.

The computer does not give me any trouble as long as I never shut it off.

I know its not the video card because I've had the same problem with 3 different cards. So far, that's the only problem it has.

Any idea what my problem might be? Is it serious?

It has been like this for about 2 years.

thanks

nvidia 6800gt card

I think this might be a cooling problem. Check and make sure your fan is running properly.

Using a 350watt ps, cpu fan is running strong.
Its weird because I never have any problems with gaming or anything.

Antecs are top notch but 350watt is a bit weak to run a 6800GT.
It might have too low a start up current to initialize this power hungry card.

Another thought is to check for capacitor bulge or leakage on the motherboard.
