Hi folks;

Yes u can disable the cpu from sms menu screen at boot startup .

You can also use:

cpu_deallocate n

with 'n' being the processor number (i.e. 0,1,2...) depending on how many processors you have.

arvibm: I have never seen such a kinda menu in SMS. Is that a hidden one for vendor purposes?

cspilman: "cpu_deallocate n" is to be typed at OK prompt? Well, and how to recover after such an action? "cpu_allocate n"?

The 'cpu_deallocate n' can be done at the command line at any time while the system is up and running, however, to reallocate the cpu after deallocation, you will need to reboot, go into the SMS menu screen to reallocate it.

Off hand, I don't remember the navigation through the SMS menu to reactivate since I have only done it once and that has been over a year ago. Anyone else know?

Regards,
Chuck
