Hi thier,
Ive searched the archive here but have only found one article relating to my problem.

I have a compaq 3000 with Compaq Smart Array 3200 running.
Ive recently installed Win2000 and i seem to see the following error message in Event Viewer:

The driver has detected that device \Device\Scsi\Cpqarray1 has old or out-of-date firmware. Reduced performance may result.

Does anyone know how to resolve this?
Ive tried donwloading the Firmware upgrade for the Smart Array controller (cp001440.exe).
However when i run this program it tells me it cannot find any upgradeable devices.

Hello,
Just download the SP16377.exe and when you run the utility it will extract maybe 3 folders to your desktop. One of the files is an executable maybe called QRST5, when you run this it will ask for 4 floppies. Take a formatted floppy and only create the 1st floppy. Cold boot your server with this floppy and see if the firmware upgrade will initialize. It definately should work. Just report back how you did, hopefully your upgrade goes well.

Well, I'll report back here. I had the exact same problem, and this was exactly what I needed. Problem solved after several boots.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Had exactly the same set of problems. Issues have all ben identified and resolved with this file.

As I am planning a windows 2000 upgrade/migration within the next 3-6 months, are there any other faults/problems that have been highlighted with this hardware and windows 2000 server?

Many thanks to all

Mr. X.
