CPN substition issues

I inherited an older Mitel system when I took this job. I am cleaning, growing and upgrading... At our HQ, we have 2 MXe-III controllers running 5.0 SP1. These are not fully integrated/redundant. I have PRI 1 and PRI 2 coming into controller 1, receiving 3 digits from PSTN and a new PRI into controller 2 which receives 4 digits from PSTN. The 3 digits are routed via system speed calls to my 4 digit extensions. (yeah i know it's messed, but i'm working on it)

So, outbound CPN defaults to our main number, however in Trunks-> Digital->ISDN->DID Ranges for CPN Substitution, there are a bunch of single, double, etc extensions built to use specific DID numbers which I receive as 3 digits. In this form, they are set as 10 digits for outgoing.

I have recently obtained 1000 DID's that match most of my extensions, so I'm testing in trying to make mine identify outbound CPN as my new number. My PRI carrier has everything set to allow me to self identify with the new numbers, I have modified my index with the new number. Now my outbound calls default to the main number.

My goal is to be able to allow SPECIFIC extensions with matching DID (123)456-4444 I receive 4 digit and it goes to 4444 when making a call, identifies as (123)456-4444 when using the CPN substitution form.

I can't remember for certain when they added DN specific substitution but I'm confident that 5.0 will have it.

Instead of using the DID Range / CPN Substitution you want to use the Associated Directory form.

In the associated Directory form, you can assign a number to a DN and designate it as a CPN Substitution (Don't leave it as Hot Desk, that would be bad.)

The Assoc Dir Form takes precedence over the DID Ranges form.

A Suggestion regarding your Speedcalls to avoid conflicts for the time being.

in your Trunk Attributes insert some digits such as 2***
[ul]
[li]This will convert all your three digit XXX to 2***XXX that you can enter as speedcalls.[/li]
[li]Now before you go ahead and add 1000 speedcalls, I strongly suggest an upgrade to at least 7.0 so that you can take advantage of the new DID Translation table introduced at that load.[/li]
[li]Note that Speedcalls can only be deleted 1 at a time and 1000 speedcalls is the default limit without redimentioning[/li]
[/ul]
