While using this command to list the contents of what's on our backup tape:

unix> cpio -itv < /dev/rmt/0

We get the following error:

cpio: I/O error on "input", errno 12, Not enough space

Could someone explain what this means to me?

Many Thanks.

Thiko!

Thiko,

Do you have enough filesystem space in your current directory when you run the command? Mike

Email welcome if you're in a hurry or something -- but post in tek-tips as well please, and I will post my reply here as well.

yes we do have enough space. Many Thanks.

Thiko!

Try this command: cpio -itcB < /dev/rmt/0
or cpio -itcB < /dev/your tape drive
