CPIO BACKUP

We need to use tape drive on one server to take cpio backup of another server on the same network .Both the servers are running Red Hat Linux 7.3.
Can someone suggest the procedure/ the correct syntax for this process ?

For remote filesystem backup use rdump better than cpio

It has a very nice backup module...
