Does anyone know if there is a way to determine when a CPIO archive was created on a tape? I can read the table of contents and see when the files on it were originally created, but I am trying to determine specifically when the archive was created. Thanks

CPIO Archive Creation Date

does your cpio-file contain /var/adm/messages; i would suggest to check the date of this or any other logfile since they are always busy...
