cp150 desktop messaging

I have a small customer with a MICS 7.1 and a Cp150 with 20 seats of desktop messaging that aren't being used / haven't been set up. Will it forward messages as a .wav file or must the user use the Desktop messaging program/player with .vbk files?

What about a smartphone? What can be done if they want voicemails to be played from the smartphone email program?
