I reset a CP150 and it defaulted. It lost 12 mailboxes and 2 unified messaging licenses.

I paid to get more mailboxes. If it defaults again can I just reload the codes for the mailboxes? Will the serial # ever change (like a sys id on a MICS)? I believe the serial is a MAC address too so it shouldn't change.

Just back up the Call Pilot so you have the entire config including the licenses if and when it happens again.

Yes, you can reload the keycodes if they are ever lost again. CallPilots don't jump the system ID like the MICS can. If you save a backup of the CallPilot programming it also saves the keycode files which can be restored in case this happens again.

I recently had an Avaya engineer at the KRS who helped me generate a new PRI Enabler for a changed system ID remark that the Nortel designers must have been on drugs when they inserted that lovely "feature" in the MICS.

I haven't done a CP100/150 backup in years! How long should it take for 15 mailboxes and 1 autoattendant greeting?

For me it's fairly easy to rebuild the mailboxes by telephone.

If I can then re-enter the keycode by telephone, that is fine!

And make sure you leave it to run, if you restart then you'll loose programming again

The CP is offline while it is backing up. Keep that in mind too.
