My customer wants all the sets to ring if the operator isn't available once someone pressed 0 from the voicemail... any clue how to do it ?

We have a NA in there programmed as ringing NA on all the sets ie: if someone dial 26, all the sets will ring.

But the "fwd on no answer" of set 21(operator) is set to NS 26 but that rule doesn't seem to be followed by the CP100 when someone press 0...

set an answer dn for the operator's extn on all sets ...
but that'll ring even when the operator is available ...

If you have system software that supports hunt groups, set one up with all the phones you want to ring and point the AtDt to the hunt group. Using Answer DN, will make all sets ring even if its a personal call. That way if someonr dials 21 only 21 will ring but if someone dials 0 from the AA all the sets in the group will ring.

Telemarvs solution will work as you want it to. But you have to have at least 4.X software, (which I am guessing you have with a CP) and you would have to change the DN's to 3 digit.
You would also have to have the operator change the attnd. DN from herself (DN21) to the hunt group DN through feat982 each time she is "unavailable."

Or you could fwd/na the operator to the hunt group, but then you would have to do something with her voice mail.

Right hunt group requires 3 digit DN. Why would anyone use 2 digit anymore even on a CICS?

I can't remember if we have 2 or 3 digits NA, but I'd reconfigure if necessary.

So I understand Hunt Groups are they way to go (I'll have to read the manuals on this!), yet the operator will still have to change the attnd using F982 each time she leaves her seat.

Wouldn't it be the same if she only made a call forward to the set 26(which rings all) when she is not available ?
(although my client asked for an automated solution; if she can't answer within x rings, then ring everywhere in the office)

Um Bkrike If you set Operator available to no then 0 calls will go directly to voice mail... will not pass go and you won't collect $200.00.

um telemarv- I did not say make herself unavailable...I said use feat982 to change the operator DN from 221 to 707 when she is "unavailable" to take calls. Thereby when someone zero’s out, it makes the hunt group ring- just one idea for his question.

Montrealsoft,

Note: if you use hunt groups ALL line appearances must be removed from the sets. I had a similar request that was satisfied with the use of two external ringers. Used Algo Duetts.

Since I see you mention 21 and 26 you are 2 digit DN's?
In that case you can't use hunt groups unless you change to 3 and if you do change to 3 then set up a hunt group and add all the members to that group and when reception is not there then forward no answer the set to that group DN.

The other option is setup a mode in Service Modes and add members to group 002 (if 001 is used for night), rename i.e. Lunch to Away and set it as manual and program a Service Mode key (F871) on the reception set.
Reception leaves desk and presses the key for Away mode and all sets ring. This option means reception has to do this when leaving the desk area everytime but at least she presses one or 2 buttons rather than a hundred.

Hope I was reading you right in what you want.

Cheers
CC
