Hey All,
I got a strange one. My CP100 was upgraded to 2.0 a month or so ago. At the time this was not happening.

Here's the deal:
We have a CCR tree that we use during the day after 3 rings. At night we go on night service and it answers right away with a slightly different message. When my admin gal would go home she would put the attnedant to business closed. When I left I would hit the night button.

If someone calls in for service they can hit 1, which takes them to mailbox 5000 to leave a message about the problem. The mailbox then calls the on call tech to give them the message.

For some reason this stopped working. When we go to non-business status the option 1 doesn't work. It says invalid extension (which is true it's a guest mb). If we just use time of day and the night button all works fine.

Any idea what would cause such an odd problem?

Thanks,
Rob

You stated that you use the non-biz option. Do you manualy select it via f982, or does the auto att table go to it based on time of day info? I'm looking for more info, but the non-biz greeting could be using a different ccr tree than the other greetings and it(ccr tree) might not be set up the same.

Yes we did it via F982.
We only use tree 1.

It's a real head scratcher!

why not use time of day controls for aa prompt and nite for ring to zero f982 is a pain in ass

F982 should only be used to close a business in an emergency in my opinion.

Anyway what exactly does Path 1 do in programming? is it a Transfer? or a Leave Message? sounds like it's a Transfer to 5000, make sure it's Leave Message and tell it then to leave it in Mailbox 5000.
Make sure mailbox 5000 exists, dial 5000 when greeting is played rather than 1 as a test.

how did you upgrade your CP100 from 1.5 to 2.0?

Power down CP. Put PCMCIA card in slot B with new software on it. Reboot, and seleted the correct setting to get CP to load new software from card B. Reboot and then poof all done.

I think this is a known bug in the CP release 2. On of the guys in my office has experienced almost the same thing. He was talking to Nortel and they confirmed a bug. they didn't say when they would fix it though....

I found that using the night service button does what we need and it takes less steps to turn off.
