No one I've talked to has even heard of this part - it's a locking wall-mount kit for 7940/60 phones. Anyone know anything about the kit? Worthwhile for phones that are in more public areas, or a waste of effort?
Adman, for a tech-savvy user, it certainly will work at home. Several of the "residential VOIP" providers support CP7940 and 7960s.
One of the benefits of the system we're using is that "take your phone home" IS supported, relatively seamlessly. Naturally, we'd be able to track a disappearing phone hooking into our system remotely, but as VOIP continues to expand the ubiquitous device will become more common.
We are installing our first Cisco IP phones starting this week. We are putting the locking wall mounts on all of our phones for security reasons. The only difference between the two are the lock and I also don't want to have to keep two types in stock.
