Hi all, it is 61c Rls 25.40. We got our CPU0 disbaled/not responding, I inid switch fist but still CPU0 was disabled then i shutdown both CPU`s and again powering ON but result was same, CPU1 was working and CPU0 was disabled. Then i put CPU1 on Maint state unplug CP and IODU of CPU0 and brought them to my LAB PBX. They both are working in my lab PBX. Now need help in this

(1) What are the correct procedure to plug CP and IODU back
to PBX while PBX is running with CPU1 on Maint
state. Both CNI card are still enabled.

(2) IS there any other hardware can i suspect if CP and
IODU are working in My lab PBX.

CP , 0 15, NT5D03PB 02
CP , 1 15, NT5D03PB 02

IODU/C, 0 17, NT5D61AB 10
IODU/C, 1 17, NT5D61AB 10

sounds like one of them is dead.. i would bet on the cpu.. but i would also have both on hand..

if 1 is running, put it in maint.. disable (faceplate) the cni's on side 0.. then either replace the cpu/cmdu's on that side or.. put the install disk in the door, press and hold the ini button, put that side in maint also, then rls the ini..

same procedure to replace either or both or to try and reload the ones you have now.. you have to connect a term to j25 on the rear of the side you are loading.. it boots to an install screen.. do the install and restore the customer data from the working side..

after that (about an hour)... you can make all switches normal and press both ini buttons.. you need the install disk, and the keycodes.. in the eng manuals, book 3 of 5 same procedure as doing an upgrade except your loading the same rls

John my PBX CPU1 is working OK, That was CPU1 which was disabled and INI and Shutdown didn't help, then i put CPU1 on
maintenance and unplug CP and IODU of CPU0 and brought both cards to my LAB and checked it with my lab PBX, both these are working OK in my lab PBX, now i wants to plug these both card to original PBX from where i brought these. Need advise how do i plug both these card in PBX which is on Maint. state.
Also these both are working in my lab PBX and wasnt working at customer end, though i also checked by powering down PBX.

Regards,

If ai am understanding you correctly you want to put the hardware you removed from core 0 in core 1 and take the core 1 hardware back to the lab, Right?

Well switch has to go down.

Power down
replace the cards
enable switch on cmdu
cp card in maint.
power up
Maybe restore database unless you do it in the lab ahead of time if changes have been made.

if core 1 is running you probably have cpu 1 in MAINT, the CNI cards are DIS on CORE 0, make sure the active Clock Controller is on core 1

that state will allow you to plug in the cpu0 and CMDU 0 (with switchs off). then you have to follow the procedure of "coming out of parallel reload

Yes Triton101 , my cpu1 is on Main. state but CNI cards are enabled (both cores), now i need to put CP and IODU backk to CPU1. Can you briefly explain steps how to put them back and synchronize with other CPU, NTP`s are a bit hard to follow.

Regards

You can try the bellow but there is a possibility that it will not work. If you are using the same (original) CMDU and CPU card, then you might be able to get away with it with a simple sync at the end.

Before pulling out the CP card on the CORE 0 you should have disabled the CNI cards on that core and make sure you were running the Clock Controller on Core 1.

At this point there are no guarantees that your system will not have issues, normally you want the Core to Network interface cards to be disabled, the steps of coming out of a Parallel reload are in the upgrade guide, but here is a brief brake down:

Step 1
CPU 1 is in MAINT
Make sure your cock controller is ACTIVE on core 1 and 0 is STBY

Step 2
Turn off CNI cards on CORE 0 (the one with no CPU, this should have been done before you pulled out the CP card, but so this might cause you problems doing it after the fact or not...)

Step 3 (while system is running)
CPU 0 card, make sure it's in MAINT and slot into PBX, CMDU card, make sure it's toggle switch is OFF and slot in and then wait 30 sec and turn ON toggle switch.

after you would follow these steps.

1: on CORE 0 (inactive) set the CNI cards to ENB on the faceplate

2: this is a TWO STEP process, but you have to do this at the same time, a: Press the MAN RST button on the CP (INACTIVE, CORE 0 in your case) card (but don't let go) and right after the the MAINT/NORM switch to NORM (on the INACTIVE CPU) and let go of the MAN RST button, this should take you less than 1 or 2 sec.

after you should see SYS700 on the LCD Display

then you should see RUNNING ROM OS later ENTERNING CP VOTE
Eventually you will see HWI534 (memory sync) on the TTY (J25 or J21 on the back) and when it's complete you will see HWI533.

Once you get the HWI533 message, you can set the MAINT/NORM switch to NORM on the ACTIVE CPU (Core 1).

last step is to SYNC the HDD.

Got to LD 137 and do a SYNC

if everything is Happy, this should work....

If you want to go to the book to verify the steps go to page 288 of the "LARGE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE" guide for NT5D61 card.....(page might be diff, depending on the PDF you have)

But keep in mind this is all based on the SAME CP and CMDU that you took out, NOT NEW/REPLACEMENT CARDS, otherwise you will have to reinstall the software and CP ROM , DATABASE...ect....

Keep in mind, you probably want to do all of this Off hours, during a Maint window....
