I recently had to recover from a dead hard drive on a CP 2011 running 2.0 software. Everything has been loaded new from scratch on a new hard drive.

When I first ran the config wizard in CP manager it went though all the steps and then I got this error:

Updating Multimedia Allocation ... done

Configuring Switch Information ... done

Installing Language(s): English(Canadian) ... done

Erasing DSPs ... failed. Faulty DSPs: DSP01-003

Programming DSPs ... failed. Faulty DSPs: DSP01-003

Setting Server and time zone information ... done

Setting network card information ... done

Changing the status of services ... done

After I restarted the server the ports wuld not come up. I then pulled the card out and re-seated it and the card and ports came up and were working fine.

Now, I had an issue with the CP manager (adding 125 mailboxes) and the browser locked up. I went onsite to reboot from the server and I got:

The following devices cannot be detected in the callpilot system:

BRD01(04100000), DSP01-001(061000000), DSP01-002(06100100)
DSP01-003(06100200). Run config wizard to fix the problem.

SO, I then re-seated the card twice and VOILA, its up and running again.

Does look to be hardware or software? Please advise if anyone can shed some light. I find it bizarre that some ports are integrated and others are running off the MPC slots/cards so how would they all not be responding??

Thx

Run the config wizard again and if you experience the same issues replace the card.

Wow, I`m being told the card (ntxx30hh) is 6k to replace...

it could be one or both of your mpc-8 multimedia
processing cards that plug into the front of your
201i server not he card itself.

Also make sure that your e-lan is active. I had this where I had not configured the e-lan and thus the system would not configure the DSPs.

Another question:

The system has 16 ports total. Why is there 2x MPC cards plugged in if you have 8 ports on the board and 8 ports on each card? This would equal 24 ports.

Also, whenever this error occurs the system cant find all 3 cards (integrated+2x MPC cards).

I find this really bizarre...

in that case its like what tnphoneman said replace the
201i server card.

The 201i came with 24 DSP recources even if you did not purchase that many ports.

did you make sure your elan and elnk are active like
dulfo666 suggested? in ld 48 do stat elan, and ld 137
stat elnk.

Yes, this was a reload so the PBX was already configured and the ELAN was active.

The only way I could get the ports on the card to come up was to re-seat the card without the CD or Tape drive attached.

This card is slotted in 9/10. Should it be moved to 8/9 ?

yes it should be moved if you have a second cabinet
it also can go there as well in any of the slots except
for the last slot.

Do I have to re-program the agents to card 8?

Yes you do.
