I am converting an anolog Magix to a PRI. Once we cutover, I understand I'll need to route the main number via DID to extension 100. I will have call coverage buttons on 4 other extensions so they can answer incoming calls. The thing is, I have learned from this board that in order to route calls at night to AA I have to disable call coverage on all covering extensions. So that means I basically will have 4 night buttons in effect. What if I created a calling group, say 771, add the 4 extensions to it and then cover 100 to 771. Would that solve the problem? Or would all extension need to be in DND for the call to route to AA?

The Night Service should route calls to the AA at night with no problem.

I am not sure of the info you base the "have to disable call coverage on all covering extensions on, but there is one issue that Night Service can present with D-I-D's.

That is, everyone in the NIGHT SERVICE GROUP will ring when ANYONE is called at Night.

It sounds like you are going to set-up x100 as the attendant. When you add a cover button, you add (I believe 2 rings) to the call for each person covering that extension. So, it you want calls to go directly to the AA at night, yes, you would need to put each covering extension on DND so they won't ring on inbound calls.

Merlinman - TT Tommy said that all primary and secondary coverage extensions must be exhausted before you can overflow to the AA. It's likely I have this all wrong. Will be able to test late today with luck.

MM - yep. I discovered that during testing yesterday. The cool thing is having the extra rings when not on NS. Saved me a step since they wanted a longer delay before going to AA.
