I am new to IP Office coming from Nortel Options. I am trying to create multiple appearances of virtual extentions from the DNIS digits passed from a PRI trunk which can be picked up by users having those appearances without automatically answering and busying out the extention. Is there any way to do this using pickup keys on sets. To state it another way I want the Virtuals Exts to appear and ring on sets but not be answered on a set until the user takes the phone off hold and presses the pickup key.

I suspect you are falling tnto the trap of trying to configure the IPO in the same way as another swittch.
This has always caused some problems for INDeX & Definity engineers because the IPO uses the same handsets & is close in many respects. from my limited knowledge of nortel productsthe procesing is totaly differnt ( on a norstar you program a handset to monitor a line, on IPO you program the line to ring the handset)

I suspect you need nothing more complicated than to setup incomming call routes to ring the required extns (or posibly groups)

If you could detil the customers actual requirement without atempting to relate it to any particular switch I may be able to help further

of coures some of the experts here may be more familiar with nortel & what you are trying to do, in which case over to you guys.
