I have not done a whole lot with call covering on Legends. The Definity is much easier in this arena. I am not real sure about the true meaning of Calling Group and coverage group. I think Calling Group is the senders and coverage group is the receivers?

I have a system that has all calls inbound to the console. They want it to ring twice on the console then ring at three other stations for two rings, then to AA.

I know that primary coverage needs to be a coverage group, and AA needs to be secondary, but how in the heck do you make that work with this funky Calling group/Coverage group stuff??

I sure wish it was a G3 instead!!

Then of course the ring delay stuff?

Thanks guys!!

For the delayed ring, you would add a "Primary Coverage" button to the other sets to cover the console. Set the coverage button to delayed ring. When the console rings, the button flashes, and on the third ring, it also rings. User can simply left their handset to answer, or can use a "Pickup-Ext.XXX" button to pull the call to their own SA button, leaving the coverage button free to ring on another call.

For the Delayed Auto Attendant, create a calling group with no members, assign the lines/pool to the calling group, have it overflow to the Voice Mail calling group, using "Time-Based Overflow", set at 5 seconds per ring cycle. In Voice Mail, create an Auto Attendant Extension with the same Extension Number as the Delayed Calling Group. (I use 791 for the Delayed Call Handling Group, and 770 as the Voice Mail Calling Group)

(Calling Group members are the receivers, such as Voice Mail ports, and Group Coverage are the senders, such as extensions in Cover Group 30 (typically the Voice Mail Coverage Group)

Here's a "cut-n-paste" of the job aid I use when doing the initial programming on Legend and Merlin Messaging:
