I am setting up some new phones on a magix. The customer is being added to a current system. They are porting over numbers and need about 6 phones with "line appearances" the numbers are being ported over a PRI. I can send the incoming numbers to a coverage group set it linear with adjuncts as members and give the phones primary coverage of adjuncts in the coverage group. But the problem is they want 12 of these and the system limit is 8. Basically they want it to mimick a key system so these phones can see all the calls active, on hold, or ringing in. HELP!!!! Antone have a crazy request like this or have an idea as to how I can do this????

Coverage is limited to only 8 covering extensions.

Shared System Access however, is limited to 16.

That is, 16 people can have up to 10 shared system access buttons for any given extension. (Provided that extension has 10 System Access Buttons).

I tried using 10 SAA Buttons from an ADJUNCT, and put these 10 on about 10 4424D sets, but, I ran into a problem.

When 1 call was ringing and anothe came in, instead of ringing to the next SSA Button, it went right to voice mail.

To fix this issue, I used a "REAL" extension. I actually put an MLX Set in the PHONE ROOM and assigned all 10 Systeam Access buttons on it, and that fixed the issue.

Considering you have more than 1 phone number, this may not be the right answer for you.

Good Luck!

If you have a few spare analog ports and a few analog trunk ports try this:
Program your analog extension to be the DID receiver
Plug this station into a trunk port(i.e 801) configured for loop
Now assign trunk 801 to any of the stations required to cover this line.

Merlinman a star for you. Great idea I passed right up on that. Works like a charm in my lab. Thank you. photon dont have enough trunk ports but that was an idea i was looking to but the extra carrier and cards was a though sell.

Merlinman,

Is that a bug in the Magix software associated with the SSA feature?

I could not find any different explanation on the SSA feature between the Legend and Magix feature descriptions in the manuals.

If you are asking about my experience of problems with the ADJUNCT SSA, then yes, I think it's a bug. However, I have no documentation telling me that. My other engineer friends had never heard of that interaction, and were certain it should work like a real extension.

But, considering we needed it fixed fast, and the client had many spare MLX Ports & Phones, we just did it.
