We have an extension(600) that the operator forwards incoming calls to when there is no one at the main console. I have a print out from winspm that shows Ext 600 as having a bunch of extensions listed in primary coverage and a few listed in group coverage.

Which menus do I follow to modify those lists using winspm ?

Also, what is the difference between group coverage and primary coverage ?

Thanks,
Bill

Primary cover will ring those phones which assigned immediately or delayed, whichever is set. Group cover will act as an overflow after so many rings, i.e. group cover for voice mail. It is not normal to have more than one group cover for an extension.

Thanks for the info. How would I go about changing the extensions listed on the primary cover. Hopefully I can accomplish this thru winspm.

Bill

Bill,

If you use SPM and print out an extension status of a particular extension, it will tell you which extensions are set for primary cover. The actual button is programmed at the covering phones. You can use SPM or just go to each telephone to change or delete that button.

Is there a limit to the number of extensions that can be set for primary cover ? I can't seem to add more than 8 extensions.

How can I get around this ? I am trying to get about 15 phones to ring when the operator is not available and forwards the phones to "600"

Thanks,
Bill

Sorry bill, you are only allowed 8 Primary/secondary cover buttons per ext. we have used group coverage which is another 8...the only downfall is those ext can't have vm coverage.
