Coverage for DID? 1

My cust wants to have a users DID ext ring on the console so I removed the VM cover from the ext & put a primary cover button on the console. That was the easy part. Now they want the cover to ring on all of the exts that cover for the console. Can it be done without adding cover buttons on all of the covering phones??? Thanks in advance ;-}

Bottom line, yes, you are going to need a button. (But what KIND of button?)

Any given extension can have up to 8 cover buttons.

So, if you want up to 8 people to cover this guy, you have to put a COVER BUTTON on up to 8 extensions.

Any given extension can have SHARED SYSTEM ACCESS Buttons on up to 16 Extensions (But not operator consoles).

So you can have 24 total places this guy can ring, if you carefully follow the info above.

I'd be willing to bet you don't need anywhere near that many.

I have done it either way, or both ways mixed, with good results.
