Hi all,

Is is possible to route a call from station X directly to the voicemail of station Y ??

Example:
Call comes in at ext 9622
Call is routed to ext 9296 and answered
Ext 9296 wants to route call directly to voicemailbox of ext 9622.

Is this possible ?? I tried a lot of things, but nothing happens.... I tried the FAC 'Transfer to Audix' but when I enter that it just giving me a busy tone.
I also tried to play around with a vector and stuff but that didn't work as well. I know that I can create a vector that will route a call to a specific voicemail box, but I would like to have a general solution (creating a vector for each VM box sounds fun but..... no thank you).

I have a Def V6 and Audix R3.2.

Any idea's ??
Thanks,
Erik.

Will the dialed extension remain a constant for all, basically all voicemails are going to go to 9622 or are you going to have a set of two variables for evey users extension?

What makes this difficult is you cannot cover to a cover. If the call coming into 9622 is covering over to 9296, whethere it be FAC or SAC, you have already used your 1 cover. Trying to get the call into voicemail after 9296 will not happen. I beleive not even with a vector.

Could you possibly bridge some appearances for 9622 on 9296, that way it never leaves the extension and then will go to voicemail?

Also, if you Audix has it, I'm not sure what version does, you can to a change auto-attd-routing routing-table for 9296 so that no matter what, the calls will go into voicemail box 9622.

Hope this helps.

Hi Randyb19,

Yeah, the calls goes to extension 9296 via the coverage path, if ext 9296 doesn't answer, the call will go the the voicemail box of ext 9622.
Each extension has his own vm box so I can't use the auto-attd-routing.

I was hoping to create something that will allow you to route the call to any VM box that you enter.

Thanks,
Erik

If it's just for the two extensions you've described, you want it to happen all the time and you are using Intuity you can define a secondary extension. So 9622 follows a coverage path to 9296 and then the voice mail hunt, on the first page of the subscriber form for 9296 you define 9622 as the secondary ext and 9296 operates as a single mailbox catching all calls for 9622 and 9296. This is used all the time for execs who don't want to bother with paying attention to a mailbox.

Check out your feature access codes and look for TRANSFER TO VOICE MAIL on page 3. Create a code if there is not one there already. When the covering station answers the call for the primary station and the caller wants to leave a message in voice mail, the cover station can do TRANSFER xxx where the xxx = the transfer to voice mail access code. The switch knows the extension of the primary station and will send the call directly to that Audix mailbox.

Hi Phonepd,

I tried that one (I even changed the code) but it gives me a busy signal. I'm testing it on my extension (console perm. and no restrictions) but it just doens't work....

Strange, strange, strange.....

Regards,
Erik

Sorry, gave solution to different problem there, I obviously need to stop drinking on the job. Anyway, the only thing I have found that interacts with Transfer to Audix so far is COR but it doesn't give me a busy signal, it just won't let me release the call. I'll keep playing with it this morning and see if I can't duplicate your scenario.

Hi maxg,

Just called to Avaya and the solution seems to be..... Auto Attendant....
They will send me a doc that will explain how to install it.
Will have a go and let you know.

I will open a bottle if it works....

Erik.

Hi all,

zbottle izzzz open !!! [party]

Auto-attendant works great.
I had to create a phantom station (X) in the PBX with a coverage path to Audix.
In Audix, create this station as an auto-attendant, record the greeting and that was it.

The extension I created is 5888.
If I receive a call, I press transfer 5888.
I hear the greeting "Please enter the 4 digits", enter the extension I wish to reach (9622), hit the # button and press Transfer. Call is now routed directly to the voicemail I entered.
Let me know if you want the doc. I will translate it (from Dutch to English).

Thanks to all for the support,
Erik.

Hi Erik,

I would love to have the doc. I have had a few instances where transfering directly to different voicemail boxes would be helpful. I have managed to avoide it so far, though.

TIA,
Todd

Hello EPalle,

This is how we have ours setup, but there is a 2 ring delay between the transfer and AutoAttendant picking up. Do you have this also, or do you know how to get around that. I have worked with many systems that go directly to voicemail without any delay. The problem with the delay, is that if another call comes in while transfering, the receptionist has to wait for Intuity to answer and then type in the extention hit tranfser before she can answer the next call. It gets pretty hairy sometimes for our poor receptionist. I would love to fix this problem for her. Thanks,

-Todd

Erik - if you still have the doco on transfer back to Audix, I would love to have it.

Thanks!

I have a Def v6 (site 1) with Audix (site 2) at another location. If someone dials the main number of site 1 which is also a station, 8367, on that switch they get a ring no answer. The auto attendant is an extension of 8110 at site 1. How do I check to see why the main number is not being answered by the auto attendant to play the greeting which enables the calls to be routed?

Any help would be great.

thanks
Joe

thanks.. pretty informative, but basically we have admins that have bridged appearances of there bosses. They were used to answering the bosses calls and then doing a Transfer #0 Transfer to send to vm. Now getting wave off when trying.

Can you email the document to me also. I have a unique mail routing I am trying to work out.

Thanks!
