Hi, I am sure all of us have had a few disaster feedbacks while training. I needed some help from all u experienced folks there. How do u manage to cope with it & what steps can be taken if the fault was with TNA & not the trainer?
Hello deedivs,
I try to follow this rule when reading evaluations
1/3 of the people will hate you no matter what you do.
1/3 of the people will love you no matter what you do.
1/3 of the people don't give a damn what you do.
I am my own worst critic (as most people are) and when I get less than a stellar evaluation I am always giving myself a hard time. That is when I remember the 1/3 rule.
I will read the evaluations and see if there is a theme with the comments people have written. I don't put much weight on simple checkboxes with numbers. Too easy to just mark a whole column instead of actually thinking about each question.
After reading the comments I will make my own notes on what I will do differently the next time I am teaching that class. I always learn something from every class I teach.
The things I focus on are:
1. How quickly can I learn the software
2. How can I deliver a top quality class
Focusing on these two things has helped me in delivering top quality Training to my clients.
I keep extensive records. I had a class that had a 75% failure rate out of 30 ppl. When I showed my boss the missed days and tardies that were accumulated as well as the documentated corrective actions compared side by side to the final exam scores. Her tone changed to sympathetic and she commended me on the ammount of patience I displayed with the class.
