Hi All,

I have based a report on a query which displays all records within a start and end date. Now i have placed some text boxes in the report using the following syntax :

=DCount("[ID]","QryListAllCallsByDate","[HardwareOrSoftware] = 'hardware' ")

(This is counting all the records within the start and end date that have "Hardware" in the "HardwareOrSoftware" column.)

However its displaying the "#error" when i run the report.

This looks ok to me - but am i doing something wrong !?

Thanks

Steve

Hi lock,
I think you want to DCount the field of values not the ID field.
try
=DCount("[Hardwareorsoftware]","QryListAllCallsByDate","[HardwareOrSoftware] = 'hardware' ")

Thanks jim - but unfortunately that didnt work !?
Arrghhhh !

Before i start going mad over this - It is possible to do a Dcount on the results of a query !? I swear what i am putting in the text bux is 100% correct - maybe the report is having trouble reading the table the query produces ?

Is it possible to have a Dcount statement, but not have to include the table/query name ? Seeing as the reports record source is the query in question - it seems a bit pointless having to specify the query again !!?

Thanks again !

Steve
