HI, I have a standard report which I would like to count each record that has a null value in the LASTNAME field. This report is grouped by company name.

The report has a count of the total records in the group.

Thanks for your help

Please remember to post your software version.

You can insert a Running Toal, and in the evaluate->Use a Formula place:

isnull({table.lastname})

-k

Thank you K

crystal version 9.

I would like the total of null values for each group not a running total. Can you help me.

Thanks

Look at the final section of the running total, the reset function. If you make that group-based, it becomes a group total.

Remember that it will only be valid for the last detail line and for the group footer.

You could also create a formula:

if isnull({table.lastname}) then 1

Place this in the detail section and then right click on it and insert a summary (SUM, not count) at the group level.
