Counting Groups

Is there a simple formula that tells you how many groups you have? For example I have a report with all the transactions of a particular account number. I want to do a count on that group so I can see how many customers(accounts) i have done business with lately,

In Crystal 8.5, there are two simple ways:

a) A running total where you count [On Change Of Group]

b) A summary count on a group header field. Right-click, [Insert] and [Summary], this count could appear before the groups themeselves, unlike a running total which increements as the printing proceeds.

A distinct count of your group field will tell you this. And as it's another summary field, you can place it in the report header or report footer.
