Hello,

I am designing a small website for someone and I am fairly new to this. They have asked that a small counter be placed on the site to record the number of sites. Can someone help me out in how to do this please!!!!

Check with the ISP that they are hosting the web site with... since many ISPs offer free statistics packages that allow you to track usage of the website (from simple page counts right through to tracking search terms and site passage). If they have such a facility, then you won't have to make any changes to gain stats. If they don't have it... suggest that they might look at moving ISPs! You can host for very little these days (depending on the extras that you want).

I concur with Jeff. Besides, counters make a site look "cheesy" and amateurish and don't really tell you anything about the actual number of visitors.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

Right if you want a counter, some people like them others dont, i have always found bravenet very good.... they give a lot more features as well
Forums chats the whole works
Good Luck
