Counter of bytes resets

We have a Pix Firewall 515 Version 5.2(3) and we have a problem. The “show traffic” command lists the number of bytes moving trough each inferface. As only the counter of bytes run up to 4 Gb on any interface it(counter)resets at once. How can I fix this problem ? Sorry for my English.

HI.

I don't think that you can fix it, but maybe a newer software supports higher values.

Anyway it's a good idea to upgrade to newer OS and PDM - Then you can use the new monitoring options like bit rate graph of any interface over time, and more.

Another solution is to use syslog with 3rd party log analyser (like PrivateI) or a 3rd party network monitor (sniffer) to track the traffic.

In addition to any of the above, it is recommended to setup MRTG to track traffic on the routers.
