Hi there,

Hoping you can help! I have a table with all sales records. I am working to a report to show all sales between a date range. This part works fine. I also need to display total sales down within that date range e.g. Between ?Date to ?Date there has been 15 Sales.

Total Sales: 10 Sales during this date range

Invoice Invoice Date Invoice Value
(Group Field) 1010 01/01/2006 €10.00
(Group Field) 0355 02/01/2006 €65.00

Can someone please show me how to work out the total sales i.e How do i count the Group Fields to display to records.

Thanks in advance

The English barrier is a bit of an issue, your post isn't clear.

What date range are you trying to make an aggregate for?

Please post an example of the data and what you expect output.

To perform aggregates you can simply right click any field and select Insert->Summary or use a Running Total.

Or you might use a Running Total and place the criteria in the Evaluate->Use a Formula section.

Hi and thanks for you prompt reply. Sorry if i wasn't being too clear.

Basically i need a formula to count the number of sales displayed on the report. If there are 15 lines shown on the report i would like to print on the report header that there has been 15 sales today. Do not worry about the date.

Hope this helps.
Thanks

Try adding in another variable in the formula doing your aggregate, understand that there are different ways to do this and you post nothing technical, preferring to chat about data and requirements than give an example.

Right clicking the field that the sales are grouped by and selecting Insert->Summary->Distinct Count sounds like what you want, but it's hard to know as you refuse to supply what is asked of you.

Sorry, if i sounded like i was refusing to give details. I was just trying to keep it simple. The suggestions you have provided in your last post really helped. I used the 'distinct count' which worked perfectly. Next time i log a post i will make sure and post more technical details.

Thanks again for you help.
