Hi All,

I am trying to display the number of records in each group on my report. I did it just the way ACCESS help said to do it (add text box to detail section, set record source = 1, Set Running Sum to Over Group. Then added text box to group footer and made record source = the text box added to detail section) I keep getting the same result in the footer section : The textbox label shows up though no number is showing up (and yes I do have visible property set to yes). This is driving me nuts, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

D

In the group footer, place a textbox with the control source:
Code:
=Count(*)

Hi Cosmo,

Thanks for the suggestion, I am still getting the same result: The label is showing up but there is nothing in the text box. I am not sure what is going on. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,

D

Please don't be offended, but have you checked some of the "obvious" display properties for that text box? i.e. Visible, Text Align, etc.??

You have no idea how many times I have missed the forest for the trees.....

Hi Cosmo,

No offense taken, I checked everything visible etc.. I noticed something very strange though, I changed the Border Style of the text box to solid and the box does not show up on the report, still just the label? any ideas?

Thanks,

D

Can you send me a zipped copy of the database so that I can take a look at it? If I can find the problem I will post the resolution back here in the thread......

dday01,

The problem appears to be with the number and size of columns specified for the report. Column width is inherited by all sections of the report. What was happening was the text box with =Count was getting truncated because of the small column size.

If you do want a columnar report, try reducing the number of columns to 5, and their width to 2". If not, change the columns to 1 and click the Same as Detail for the Column size property.

Hope this helps....

Hi Cosmo,

All I can say is "unbelievable". Its amazing how much time you can spend on something like that!

Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
