I have a report where I need a total of the records. Problem is there are duplicates. So if I remove the dups, the count is still of the whole. So I created a group. I just need to get a count of the groups now, but I can't seem to get the formula editor right. any help?

can you do a summary count of the group names?

Fred

This is the formula i am using.

Count (GroupName ({Clients.Company}))

But when I check the formula, it says something is missing.

In the design section of the report highlight the item you want to count. Go to 'Insert' on the menu and select 'Summary'
Change it from sum to count and tell it what group you want the total count put in. Zemlya

The summary option under the Insert menu is greyed out.

Well, I just found the answer I was looking for. I did a distict count on the original field that i was grouping.

Thanks all
