Hi -

I need help with a simple count function. I can do this in access and excel but crystal has me stumped.

I am creating a report that is grouped by department. Each department has both active and part-time employees and I need to count the number of employees in each group based on the status codes of AF or PN

I've grouped the employees in each department together and entered the following formula to count the Active employees within that department but it counts both the AF and PN (part-time) employees together.

Count (["AF"])

What am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

BTW I working with Crystal 2008

Create a fomula

@AF
If status = 'AF' then 1 else 0

Then just do a sum of this formula in your group

Thank you!! That worked. Eventually I'll get the hang of using Crystal. It's pretty tough trying to figure everything without the benefit of any formal training.

Thanks again!!
