Can anybody tell me how I can get the 8 down to 1 countdown that happens when Premiere 6 starts up . Iwould like to use this effect in my movie.

Sure,
You go to file, new, new universal counting leader.
You can set the prefrences on the next screen. When you click ok it makes a new clip in the project.
