I am using crystal 8.5 and in my detail section i am supressing it when it meets a criteria. Now I would like to count the field when it is being supressed.

I have tried using a variable but have not been sucessful.

Thanks, so much

If you want a count of a field with a particular condition that is being used for suppression, create a formula:

if <suppressioncondition> then 1

//where {suppressioncondition} is something like {table.type} = 123

Then insert a summary (SUM) on this formula.

If you want to count all results of a field, even if some are suppressed, you would just insert a count on the field, since suppressed results would contribute to a usual summary.

Or you could create a running total and duplicate the suppression formula in its evaluation formula.

Thank you so much for the help I actually ended doing a running total. It worked once I got my formula in the correct spot. I could not use the first suggestion because I could not get a count on the field.
