You may have read my last post about my comp's virus, well I'm now doing one of those housecall scans and it showing at the moment that 549 files have been infected however what I would like to ask is this, on most of them under 'Scan result' it says they are 'Cleanable' does this mean that the virus can be elimenated from the file or does it mean that they can be deleted and will be to cure the virus? Also what about the one's that are not cleanable would it help to reinstall windows, would that cure those?

Thank you so much for yor time....oh and just one more thing, it also seems that I have about 4 diffrent viruses going by diffrent names, is this unusual?

Thank you!!

Here is what I have done. First, let Norton AV or Mcafee clean the ones that are cleanable. Then, make a list of all the ones that are not, and let the AV program quarantine them. Next, try to locate good copies of any vital programs such as ones in any Windows subdirectory. You can get fresh copies from the Windows CDrom using the Extract command. Application programs will have to be obtained from original diskettes or CD. Finally, follow any instructions given by the AV system related to editing the Registry and/or checking for trojans or worms in the Recycle bin. Good luck
