Folks:

I'm new to using the WISE package studio. I'm building an MSI for an application that needs 1 batch file to be run (to update the services file in winnt\system32\drivers\etc), 3 applications (exes), 1 exe to install Acrobat plug-ins and one REG file to install registry keys. When I finish excluding the unecessary files and try to save/complie the MSI I get a "Could not write row: Directory" error. I also see a root level key in the rgeistry portion and there is no name for this key, but there are sub keys. On copy copy of the MSI that I built, when I try installing the MSI, I get an error "Opening Registry Key UNKNOWN" and I suspect that is because of this blank root level key.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Hi Mani,

This error generally happens when wise is unable to update its database. In order to solve this problem, try saving every time after making one change in the scripts.

If U r packaging a different language application, then wise is unable to erad the alphabets. For solving this, u have to take a copy of the folder to some other location, then rename the folder to some english name and then copy it to the destination folder and rename it back to the old name.

try this method and send the feebback. Hope it solves the purpose..

regards
Saurabh
