Hi,
I have installed Mandrake 7.0 on an IBM Pentium II machine.
I have installed windows-98 also on the same machine. I rebooted the machine from linux onto win-98. When I again tried to boot to linux, it is uanble to start the Xserver. It just flickers the screen saying the error - Fixed font.
I tried configuring the Xserver [using Xconfigurator] using the single user mode. I could not do it. But I have the original X configuration which was running previously. I tried with level 3 [which is console mode] and I saw my xfs running for level=5. Even then I could neither configure the X-server nor bring up the x-server with the original configuration.
The only change I made to the machine is I upgraded the bios as I was having the other problems with the partitions.
I did not change any of the hardware
Can anybody suggest what to do in such a situation to bring up the X-Server. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
