I have problem in accpac, that when i want to open charts of accounts, or any other module button to work in it massage appears that "Could not open the UI.
The system may be busy because another application (such as a data conversion application) has locked the company's database. Otherwise, the UI was not opened because an unexpected error has occurred."

and can not access any module to open its childs. and can not work in it.

thanks

Versions?
Database?

Do you get the same error when you login as Administrator?

Sage Accpac 5.3B, SQL Server 9.0.1399, I have this problem even for Admin account.

The path of your shortcut isn't the same as the Accpac Programs path.

But sometime i can access and sometime the error appears and can not access.

Sometime i can work smoothly all the time but sometime i can not.

And abt which shortcut r u talking abt?, and how to change.

The shortcut to Accpac.Exe, make the path just like HKLM\Software\Accpac International Inc\Accpac\Configuration\Programs

Oh u mean by that, it is also properly configured.and also for sharedata.

as follow:

HKEY_Local_Machine\software\Accpac International, Inc\Accpac\Configuration\programs C:\program files\Accpac

for share data is:

HKEY_Local_Machine\software\Accpac International, Inc\Accpac\Configuration\programs D:\program files\Accpac

SharedData and Programs do not have to be the same, the SharedData folder can be anywhere.

Programs has to be the same as Accpac.Exe shortcut.

Its okay, both have proper configuration, but still here is problem.

Consider upgrading your Pervasive database. 9.0 is behind, you need 9.5 for version 5.4, anyway.

We are not using pervisave database, inside is Sage Accpac 5.4A, SQL Server 2005.

Oh, you said SQL Server 9.0.1399 in an earlier post.

In that case, make sure you're using SQL authentication, not Windows authentication in your ODBC setup.

Yes we are using SQL Server 9.0.1399, 2005 version, and we are not using ODBC technology, we r using ADO, i mean editing from regeistry, so no need for ODBC.

And in DB setup we r using SQL authentication, coz we can not use windows authentication.

You're not using ODBC? Then no wonder it's not working!

Its working befor we have used, our business partner said ODBC use for Oracle and DB2, for SQL Server no need.

Once we install on server, then we r individualy installing for each client, and only change the sharedata path. then the user who have access to sharedata can access ACCPAC.so this is simple way, why need for ODBC

Your business partner is completely wrong, ODBC is used for _all_ databases. The SharedData folder has nothing to do with the actual database access, it's for common files like licensing and multi-user semaphors.
