We have a VB6 program that uses the Acrobat Control for ActiveX to view PDF documents.
The workstation/PC that this program runs on is showing signs of impending failure, so we are building a replacement workstation.
The VB6 program & Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 have been loaded to a new workstation.
On the new workstation, when the program is run from a desktop shortcut, there is no problem, but when the shortcut is inserted in the startup (as it is in the original PC), the error "Could not find Acrobat External Window Handler" appears during the load & halts progress until the OK is clicked. The Adobe knowledgebase says re-load Adobe. This has been done 3 times--no luck.
ANY IDEAS??
