Could not connect to the Device and Media Service

Beginning yesterday, every time I open Veritas Backup exec (server 2003),it gives me the error message " Could not connect to the Device and Media Service". I click OK and it loads the Veritas bakup exec with no problem. It also ran the full back up successfully last night.
Have you seen this error message before? What does it mean in the long run?

Yep, I had this problem too after the initial installation.

However when I changed the service account, and rebooted, it was solved.

Possible bad SCCI??

It was an IDE device in my case.

Guys, thank you for your suggestions. In brief, it was an access issue. I fixed it by going to
Administrative tools-->Services--Backup Exec (about 5 services)-->properties and from there I changed the logon password
