COTS Primary Security

Somehow I "lost" my Primary Securtiy Server.
The IP entries are in tact but my COTS is no longer seen as the PSS.
I have tried re-installing (7.5) but CD drive is not seen.
Is there any way to designate the COTS as PSS through CLI prompts.

Thanks

When you login to the call server do you use a UCM account or local account?

How many COTS servers (Linux) do you have?

"IP addresses are in tact", what does that mean?

Sorry for the vagueries. We have 1 COTS server and it is or used to be our PSS.
If I web into the UCM (IP of COTS) it will only allow me to enter locally not network (can't get to host page).
If I try to joinSecDomain from MGC or reg ucm sys from CS side the PSS IP cannot be reached. The IP is in tact but that address is no longer associated with a PSS.

If I could re-install through CD and make it a PSS once again I would think I would be fine from there but the CD drive is not seen as I said which is why I was asking about CLI in my original post.

Hope this helps.

I'm still a little curious what type of login your using for the call server right now... Is it a UCM (PSS) account or a local Call Server account?

UCM should only be accessed via FQDN not he IP address. The IP address will only access the local login page. If you don't have the servers domain name in DNS then you can add it to your local machines "Hosts" file. (C:/windows/system 32/drivers/etc/hosts)

Can you ping the Elan IP of the PSS from the Call Server?

If so,
1) unreg u s
2) re run the Security Configuration on the PSS. Login locally with the "Admin2" account.(browse using the IP this time)
3) reg u s

If not,
Could be a networking issue... What IP are you trying to use when joining to the security domain? If the Elan and Tlan are not routed then you can only register via the Elan subnet.

Hope this helps!
