I am trying to create a SUM formula based on a variable, but cannot find the correct syntax in Crystal report 8. It should be Sum (Costs incured, when the customer is equal to M&S)

Bit of a new comer to crystal and formula writing

Not sure where the variable comes in. Try creating a formula like:

if {table.customer} = "M&S" then {table.costsincurred}

Then right click on this formula and insert a summary to get the sum you want.
