Hello everyone, I think I have a simple question, but I cannot figure it out for the life of me.

I like to work in the default Gantt Chart view, while adding a few columns to the Entry Table. Many of my tasks require different cost rate tables from task to task and I would like to be able to change this from the Gantt Chart view. When I add the Cost Rate Table column, it doesn't seem to reflect the actual rate table selected for the tasks (i.e.: the entire column is blank), and I cannot change it. At this stage, I can only change the rate table assignment in one of the Usage Views. Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

BTW, I am using Project 2002 Professional. Thanks!

I think I have found a solution, but it is not ideal. I split the view and changed the bottom view to the Task Usage view (with the Gantt Chart above). I would still prefer to simply incorporate a column in the Gantt chart to modify the cost rate though...

Hello dougcoulter,
Just to clarify. You have different cost rates for each Task or do you have different cost rates for a Resource doing the Tasks?

If it is the Resource you have to assign a different Cost (A-B-C-D-E) for the Resource working on the Task in one of two different areas. 1) Task Usage View - Double Click on the Resource assigned to the Task and in the lower right hand corner you can change the Cost table. 2) Resource Usage View - Double Clickon the Task assigned to the Resource and in the lower right hand corner you can change the Cost table.

Once you have changed the Cost to (A-B-C-D-E) it should then show up in the Cost Rate column. Mind you I'm doing this from memory, so I could be off. . .]

Hope this helps,
Michael
