I know how to make a COS password, but what I am not sure of is "Do I have to assign and restrict a line/line pool to all phones that the user of the COS password may use?" I have tried to use a phone with no lines/line pools assigned and all I get is "ACCESS DENIED". It seems to be a lot of useless programing to allow and restrict all the phones in the system on the chance that the "BOSS" may need to use one of the phones.

When you program the cos password you have to give it a set filter and a line filter. After you enter cos password press show the enter set filter 00 press next and enter 00 for line filter. The cos password will not work unless you give the password a set filter and line filter.

To use

Enter feature 68
Then enter password (example 123456)
It should then give you an available line to dial your number, restriction free.

Hope that helps.

I've done all that but unless I pre-assign a line to the phone, and set the restrictions, I can not get a line to use.

You must have access to a line. A cos password will not work if the phone you are trying to dial out on does not have access to a line. You can assign line pools to phones and have the phones restricted, then use the password to dial out. There does not have to be an appearance with line pools.

Thanks, thats pretty much what I decided needed to be done. I was hoping there was another way so I didnot have to program line pool access to all the phones.

Thanks again
