Hello all,

We just took over an account of with 11 PBX and I am changing all 2nd level passwords. Only 2 of then do not have the 2nd level they were supposed to. Called a major nortel vendor and had them extract the 2nd level. What they are telling me it is (suppose to be the same password for both switches) does NOT work for either for them or me.
I am not asking you to tell me how to extract them myself as I know that is a no-no. Do you think it could be corruption or is there another secret when doing the LOGIN?
If I login with the first level and go to LD 22 and PRT PWD and then put in the password they gave me (sent in an e-mail to me and verified no typos) I get the
SCH0526 Password does not match stored password.
Any thoughts?

Try the password they gave you to just log in and see what happens. I would try it as level 1.

Are you trying it this way?

PASS? [highlight #FCE94F]the 2nd level password they gave you

If so, they just gave you the wrong passwords.

Yes I have tried it that way. Also upper/lower case,
It's supposed to be NXOFTS053
NXOFTS all letters
053 all numbers

tried the letter O as a number and vice versa
I am beginging to think you are right. If it was extracted correctly then it would have to be NXOFTS053, right?

Depending on the tool they used to convert the password, it is easy to get O and 0 mixed up. I would be surprised if it was all upper case.

The other 9 PBX all had uppercase 1st and 2nd levels. Also some of them had LAPWs like:
PW01 PINE6807

PW02 FLAG197

and so on.. They were all caps.

Thank you for your help though, at least I don't think it's corruption....

Hi,

Starting release 4.5 passwords are case sensitive. Maybe you can try lower case.

And also.... It's not so nice to post passwords in this forum. Not sure if the passwords are related to the previous supplier but if that is the case they will not be happy about this...
