I have a database that continues to become corrupted. I have looked at several articles on the Microsoft site (such as Q182867) and I am able to "un-corrupt". How do I stop it from becoming corrupted????? I continue to have the following corruption problem:
Some memo fields contain "#Error" and when compacting I receive error 3197 - "The Microsoft Jet database engine stopped the process because you and another user are attempting to change the same data at the same time". I am able to delete these records and compact, but I continue to get new records with "#Error". (Q182867)
I have also seen other really weird problems that are causing corruption:
1. Two records with the SAME PRIMARY AUTONUMBER KEY (have not seen this one in a while, but I sware it happened a couple times. Makes no sense because I couldn't force in two records with the same primary key if I tried!!!)
2. Records in a middle table contain no data in the key fields, but contain "##########" in other fields.
3. Blank primary key fields
Hope someone can suggest something that will help! We are currently using Access 97 and are moving to Access 2000. Thanks!
Jennifer
